Professor Paul Williams became Chief Executive of Bible Society in September 2016 having previously worked for over a decade in business in London and then as an academic theologian in Canada. He is the visionary behind ReFrame, an innovative resource for whole-life discipleship, produced by Regent College, Vancouver, where he holds a Research Professorship of Marketplace Theology and Leadership. Paul is passionate about helping the Church read the Bible in the marketplace and engage missionally in contemporary culture. He will be speaking on Leadership in the Marketplace: Why Christian Presence Matters?
Justice Dr. Catherine Bamugemereire is an anticorruption judge at the High Court of Uganda. She previously worked as a lecturer of criminal, commercial and foundational law at the University of Surrey, UK. She obtained her LLB and LLM degrees from Makerere Univeristy, Uganda and Southern Methodist University, Texas, USA. Her keynote address will focus on the Use and Abuse of Power in Public Office.
Rev Dr Sam Kobia is a Methodist clergyman and the first African to be elected General Secretary of the World Council of Churches. Dr. Kobia is now working as the senior advisor of President Uhuru Kenyatta on matters of peace, cohesion, and conflict resolution. He has also been serving as the ABLI moderator since 2016. Dr Kobia’s role will be moderating and facilitating conversation.
Rt. Lord Paul Boateng is a British Labour Party politician, who was the Member of Parliament (MP) from 1987 to 2005. He served as the British High Commissioner to South Africa from March 2005 to May 2009. He was introduced as a member of the House of Lords on 1 July 2010.
Honourable Yacubu Gowon is a former Nigerian president. He is known for saving Nigeria from break up and championing peaceful co-existence between Muslim north and Christian south. He is also the founder of Nigeria Prays, a movement that has penchant for praying for the nation of Nigeria. He will be speaking on Leadership Tough Places with Focus on Peaceful Coexistence.
Dr Dela Adadevoh is the president of International Leadership Foundation. Dr Adadevoh has also worked for Campus Crusade for Christ in Nigeria, Ghana, East Africa and Middle East and authored numerous books on transformative leadership, religion and government in Africa and approaches to Christianisation in Africa. He will be speaking on Celebrating the Past in Africa.
