Times of Swaziland feature on Bible Society backing for anti-corruption initiative
ABLI’S UK moderator, Lord Paul Boeteng, has given his backing to a new anti-corruption campaign in Eswatini that has the backing of the Bible Society.
The ABLI Moderator Emeritus saluted the launch of Eswatini’s first major public-private initiative against graft – Future Leaders Against Corruption (FLAC).
‘Corruption is a sin,’ he told media gathered for the launch of ABLI. ‘Corruption is corrosive of personal and national life.'
Turn to the Bible
Lord Boeteng told journalists that the world must turn to the Bible to find solutions in the fight against corruption.
‘It is a global phenomenon that requires a global response rooted in legislation and enforcement.’
He believes the new initiative, supported by the Bible Society of Eswatini, has a good chance of success.

In a statement published in full in the Times of Swaziland, he said: ‘I am delighted to note that the Bible Society of Eswatini, who are among the partners in this initiative, believe in home-grown solutions.
‘FLAC is rooted in the community,’ he continued. ‘Hence it is likely to succeed. Experience shows that bottom-up initiatives that come from the people are more effective than top-down ones. The FLAC campaign is an excellent initiative.
‘I hope it will advance biblical solutions to fighting corruption.’
