The ABLI Forum began its second day with a call to live a life of integrity against the culture of corruption.
Christians need to demonstrate integrity, not just rail against corruption, was the message of Rev Barnie Van Walt, of the Bible Society of Namibia.
‘What effect will you have on your Muslim brother when you just tell him he should live in accordance with the Bible? The real difference will be in the way you live out your faith in the community.
‘Make a difference in the way you live, in the way you contribute to a good life. Be faithful, a person with integrity. Focus on how to live that life.
‘If you don’t live the values of the Bible, you cannot expect people around you to follow you.’
Integrity in the Bible
Lk 16:10 - Anyone who can be trusted in little matters can also be trusted in important matters, but anyone who is dishonest in little matters, will also be dishonest in important matters.
Eph 5:11 - Don’t take part in doing worthless things that are done in the dark. Instead, show how wrong they are.
Luke 3:14 - Don’t force people to pay you money to make you leave them alone. Be satisfied with your pay.
